ABOUT ME & FEES
Malcolm Peterson,
UKCP accredited Psychotherapist &
Clinical Supervisor
Are you struggling with issues related to trauma, grief, addiction, anxiety, or major life changes? There comes a time when we need some help from a qualified professional to help cope with many of life’s challenges.
I know it’s not easy to approach a psychotherapist for the first time. Speaking with a stranger can feel daunting initially, though once you get through those initial and understandable anxieties you can be surprised how helpful it can be talking with someone you have no prior contact with. (This is what my previous clients report).
I am a registered provider with insurance companies such as BUPA

A Bit About Therapy
Through psychotherapy, psychotherapists help people of all ages live happier, healthier, and more productive lives.
Psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between an individual and a psychotherapist. Grounded in dialogue, it provides a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who’s objective, neutral, and nonjudgmental. You and your psychotherapist will work together to identify and change the thought and behaviour patterns that are keeping you from feeling your best.

Psychotherapy Services
I provide Individual Psychotherapy, Counselling and Couples therapy
COUPLE THERAPY
Couples counselling is an effective form of talking therapy. The sessions take place in a safe space and look to improve communication and resolve issues within an intimate relationship. In contrast to counselling for relationship problems, which can be undertaken solely through individual sessions, couples counselling is a term applied to talking therapy for two or more people within a relationship.
Couples counselling could help with the following:
Understand how external factors such as family values, lifestyle and culture affect your relationship.
Reflect on the past and how it operates in the present.
Communicate in a more constructive way.
Learn why arguments escalate.
Negotiate and resolve conflicts where possible.
Help sexual problems within a relationship.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
Psychotherapy recognises the lasting impact of trauma and other stressful life events. This is when stressful events that you experience or witness make you feel unsafe, helpless or vulnerable. You’ll work with a psychotherapist to think about what has happened to you, not what is wrong with you. The focus is on compassion listening and understanding rather than making a diagnosis.
Psychotherapy can be a powerful, life-changing experience which can help you to improve your mental ill health as well as overcome social or emotional challenges, and fulfil your potential.
